Once I make it to the firmware update utility and I click "next" the following error pops up: When I go to update the Thunderbolt firmware, I am met with errors. ( ThinkPad TBT3 AR Dock Station FW Utility v1.0.0.23 When I go to update the firmware for my dock, I am met with the message "dock not found!" As per another forum, I have temporarily turned off Thunderbolt3 security, but that also had not fixed my issue. Unfortunately, this did not fix the problem.

The first thing I did was update the drivers for both my dock and for Thunderbolt. So, to some degree, I know that my laptop is communicating with the dock. My dock is also able to power my laptop on/off and put it to sleep using the button on the dock. My dock is plugged into the correct port on the laptop, so I know that's not the problem. My monitors remained off, and my mouse and keyboard were not being detected by my laptop. Yesterday morning when I powered on my laptop (T480), I was surprised to find that my Thunderbolt3 Dock (40AC) was not working correctly! It was providing power to my laptop, but none of the devices connected to it were working.

However, the docking station was successfully charging my laptop, as it always does. Today when I powered on my laptop, my laptop was not connecting to the monitors. For about two years, I have been using the Thinkpad Thunderbolt3 dock to connect my laptop to two external monitors, a keyboard, and a mouse.
